A question for American Educators: Why do we continue to use industrial age teaching methods and an agrarian age calendar to teach students in the information age, how to live and work in the upcoming biological age?

I am currently teaching in the Instructional Technology program at California State University, San Bernardino. My research focus remains in the area of online teaching and learning.
